Taxonomy
Alveojunctus was named by Bown (1982). It is not extant. Its type is Alveojunctus minutus.

It was assigned to Uintasoricinae by Bown (1982), Gunnell (1989) and Hooker et al. (1999); and to Picromomyidae by Rose and Bown (1996), McKenna and Bell (1997) and Silcox et al. (2002).
