S. G. Lucas and R. M. Schoch 1982Moderately large titanotheres. Length of M 1_/- 3 approximately 150-180 mm; dental formula IiC/P 4--34--3M:13 ; incisors small and round; canines short with round cross-sections; premolars molariform: upper premolars with distinct tetartacones, lower premolars with distinct entoconids; M3 with distinct hypocone; labial faces of lower cheek teeth vertical or nearly vertical; labial cingula absent or very poorly developed on cheek teeth; nasals bearing two small horns that are round to trihedral in cross-section; skull roof with distinct convexity between occiput and orbits; skull mesaticephalic.
