Apatemys downsi

Taxonomy
Apatemys downsi was named by Gazin (1958). Its type specimen is L.A.C.M. (C.I.T.) No. 5202, a mandible (fragment of right ramus of mandible with P4-M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tapo Canyon (Upper), which is in an Uintan terrestrial horizon in the Sespe Formation of California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Apatemys bellus by West (1973) and Kelly (1990).
