Gnathabelodon thorpei
Taxonomy
Gnathabelodon thorpei was named by Barbour and Sternberg (1935) [genotype]. Its type locality is Robert Arnold Ranch, which is in a Clarendonian coarse channel fill gravel in Kansas. It is the type species of Gnathabelodon.
It was recombined as Gomphotherium thorpei by Tobien (1973).
