Ogmodontomys sawrockensis

Taxonomy
Ogmodontomys sawrockensis was named by Hibbard (1957) [used without justification by Chaline et al. 1999]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is UMMP 28166, a partial skull (Part of palatal region with M1 preserved). Its type locality is Saw Rock Canyon (Lower), which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.

It was recombined as Mimomys sawrockensis by Repenning (1987) and Mou (1997).

R. A. Martin et al. 2002Slightly smaller than Ogmodontomys poaphagus Hibbard with shorter crowned teeth. The lateral palatal grooves are distinctly deepr than thos of O. poaphagus.
