Lauranthus futabensis Takahashi et al. 2001
Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
M. Takahashi et al. 2001Flowers pedicellate, actinomorphic, trimerous; perianth two alternating series of three tepals, both of similar size. Adaxial surfaces of tepals pubescent. Abaxial surfaces glabrous. A distinct hypanthium not present. Androecium of three alternating cycles of three stamens, the outer cycle alternating with the inner tepals. Stamen filaments free and apparently lacking basal glandular appendages. In all nine stamens, anther dehiscence occurs by four valves arranged in two pairs above each other. Each valve opens from the base to apex. Anthers of the outer two whorls are introrse, anthers of the inner whorl of stamens are latrorse (upper pair of valves) and extrorse (lower pair of valves). Gynoecium poorly developed or absent.
