It was assigned to Tracheophyta by McIver and Basinger (1993); to Magnoliophyta by Hueber (1983), Upchurch and Dilcher (1990), Upchurch et al. (1994) and McLoughlin et al. (1995); to Magnolidra by Kenrick and Crane (1997); and to Spermatophyta by Jud (2011).
