Sphenosuchus acutus
Taxonomy
Sphenosuchus acutus was named by Haughton (1915). Its type specimen is SAM 3014, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sphenosuchus type, Paballong, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian terrestrial sandstone/mudstone in the Elliot Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Sphenosuchus.
