Taxonomy
Microchoeridae was named by Lydekker (1887). It is not extant. It was considered monophyletic by Hooker (2007).
It was synonymized subjectively with Anaptomorphidae by Simpson (1940); it was reranked as the subfamily Microchoerinae by Cray (1973), Szalay (1976), Hooker (1986), Hooker (2007), Gunnell et al. (2008) and Minwer-Barakat et al. (2015).
It was assigned to Tarsiidae by Cray (1973); to Omomyiformes by Köhler and Moyá-Solá (1999); and to Omomyidae by Szalay (1976), Hooker (1986), Hooker (2007), Gunnell et al. (2008) and Minwer-Barakat et al. (2015).
