Pecten (Eburneopecten) was named by Conrad (1865) [Sepkoski's age data: K Apti T Mi-m Sepkoski's reference number: 700,985].

It was reranked as Amusium (Eburneopecten) by Glibert (1936); it was misspelled as Euburnopecten by Lancaster (1986); it was reranked as Eburneopecten by Dockery (1982), Gazdzicki and Pugaczewska (1984), Ward (1992), Stilwell (1998), Sepkoski (2002) and Waller (2006).

It was assigned to Pecten by Conrad (1865); to Amusium by Glibert (1936); to Bivalvia by Lancaster (1986); to Pectinidae by Dockery (1982), Gazdzicki and Pugaczewska (1984), Ward (1992) and Stilwell (1998); to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eburneopectinini by Waller (2006).
