Taxonomy
Murchisonia auctor was named by Mawson et al. (2002) [Murchisonia (Murchisonia) auctor]. Its type specimen is AMF 118287. Its type locality is Bed 16A Section Q Right flank of Limestone Creek, Windellama, which is in a Lochkovian carbonate limestone in the Windellama Formation of Australia.
