Castorocauda lutrasimilis

Castorocauda lutrasimilis was named by Ji et al. (2006) [JZMP = Jinzhou Musem of Paleontology, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Privnce, China]. Its type specimen is JZMP-04-117, a skeleton (mostly complete skeleton with incomplete cranium, complete mandibles, most postcrania, fur, and scaly tail), and it is a compression preserving soft parts. Its type locality is Daohugou (IVPP collection), which is in a Callovian lacustrine - large shale/tuff in the Tiaojishan Formation of China. It is the type species of Castorocauda.
