Cryptophyllus was named by Levinson (1951) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llvi-l C Vise-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Palaeocopida by Sepkoski (2002); to Rhabdostichidae by Jones and Olempska (2013); and to Cryptophyllidae by Abushik and Evdokimova (2016).
