Taxonomy
Xystridurinae was named by Whitehouse. It is the type subfamily of Paradoxidoidea.

It was reranked as the family Xystriduridae by Adrain (2011).

It was assigned to Paradoxididae by Palmer and Gatehouse (1972); to Redlichiida by Kruse (1990) and Whittington et al. (1997); and to Paradoxidoidea by Adrain (2011).
