Lowesaurus matthewi
Taxonomy
Heloderma matthewi was named by Gilmore (1928). Its type specimen is AMNH No. 990A, a maxilla (posterior portion of left maxilla with three teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lewis Creek, which is in an Orellan terrestrial horizon in the Brule Formation of Colorado.
It was recombined as Lowesaurus matthewi by Pregill et al. (1986) and Yi and Norell (2013).
