Cricetus lophidens

Taxonomy
Cricetus lophidens was named by de Bruijn et al. (1970). It is not extant. Its type specimen is IVAU MA- 16, M1 sup. dext., a tooth. Its type locality is Maritsa, which is in a MN 13 fissure fill horizon in Greece.

H. de Bruijn et al. 1970Small Cricetus of about the same size as C. nanus and C. kormosi with high crowned teeth. The ridges connecting the labial cusps are well-developed, thus tending to form an ectoloph.
