Cricetodontinae was named by Stehlin and Schaub (1951) [also attributed to Schaub 1925]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Muridae by McKenna and Bell (1997) and de Bruijn et al. (2006); and to Cricetidae by Mein and Freudenthal (1971), Vasileiadou and Koufos (2005) and Maridet et al. (2011).

Crâne- le bord postérieur du foramen incisif se trouve au même niveau que le bord antérieur des M1, ou plus en arrière. La surface de la branche inférieure de l'arcade jugale est moins verticale que chez les Cricetidae, la foramen infraorbitaire est plus large. Mandibule-L'inclination latérale de la mandibule par rapport à la rangée dentaire est toujours moindre que chez les Cricetinae. Humérus- Contraire aux Cricetinae la foramen entiépicondylien manque; ce foramen est présent seulement dans le genre Fahlbuschia: l'attribution de ce genre aux Cricetidontinae n'est pas certaine. |
