Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
H. de Bruijn et al. 1992Muhsinia is a rather large very low-crowned muroid with cricetid dental pattern. The enamel band of the I is divided into a wider mesial part and a narrower dital part. The enamel of the i presumably has two thin parallel longitudinal ridges. The low anterocone of the M1 is a smooth loop that is linguaaly confluent with the anterolophule and reaches labially to the paracone. The anterior outline of the anterocone is smooth but two "cusps"become visable after some wear. The M1 and M2 have a rounded protocone and a crescent-shaped hypocone. The protolophule and the metalophule of the M1 are parallel and directed posteriorly. In the M2 the protolophule is transverse and the metalophule directed posteriorly. The lingual sinus is directed anteriorly in the M2. The m1 and the m2 have about the same length. The metalophulid I of the lower molars is directed forwards, but the hypolophulid is transverse.
