Taxonomy
Turbo delphinus was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Recent; west Pacific. m. kosnik taxon no: 7389]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Angaria delphinus by Röding (1798), Ladd (1966) and Short and Potter (1987); it was recombined as Angaria (Angaria) delphinus by van den Hoek Ostende et al. (2002); it was recombined as Delphinula delphinus by Rosenberg et al. (2006).

Synonyms
  • Turbo distorta was named by Linnaeus (1758) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Recent; west Pacific.]. It is extant.

    It was recombined as Delphinula distorta by Ladd (1934); it was synonymized subjectively with Angaria delphinus by Ladd (1966).
  • Delphinula fossilis was named by Martin (1879) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; Indonesia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Angaria (Angaria) delphinus by Skwarko and Sufiati (1994) and van den Hoek Ostende et al. (2002).
