Dinosorex huerzeleri was named by Engesser (1975). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Museum Olten Rb 101, a mandible (sin. with 1 fragm., m1-m3). Its type locality is Rickenbach, which is in a MP 29 terrestrial horizon in Switzerland.

B. Engesser 1975Bisher kleinste Art von Dinosorex mit sehr kräftigem Mandibelknochen, relative grossem, gezähneltem Incisiven und kleinen Molaren. Foramen mentale unter Trigonid von m2; fünf Alveolen zwischen 1 und m1; Molaren deutlich pigemntiert mit starken 'entoconid crests'(Repenning); m2 verglichen mit m1 relativ gross.
