Taxonomy
Pachydesma inezana was named by Conrad (1856) [DISTRIBUTION: Cenozoic; California.]. Its type specimen is USNM 13349, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Tivela (Pachydesma) inezana by Wagner and Schilling (1923), Loel and Corey (1932) and Hendy (2020).
