However, after revision of the artiodactyl, perissodactyl, and rodent assemblage, Badiola et al. (2009) concluded that this level is older than previously considered, corresponding to the Neustrian (MP8+9, 51-56 Ma), and represents the oldest continental locality of the Àger sub-basin" (p.430)
