Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:ooidal lime mudstone
Lithology description: "The lithology of the core-samples is of two types, (1) compact marly limestone or calcite-mudstone, with a variable percentage of ooliths and shell-fragments, and (2) oolite, typically fine- and even-grained. The mudstones may be indurated and riddled with tubes full of loose sediment and with crystal-lined cavities, when they become 'Dagham Stone'. Scattered sand-grains occur in most of the rocks. Two four-inch beds of sandy marl were noted and it is probable that others, though present, were not successfully cored." (Green & Melville 1956)
Environment:carbonate indet.
