Lithology description: aptychi described were found in a small abandoned clay quarry between ElFoul's sections I and II, south of the type section and approx. 50m south of the dirt road into Vinton Canyon. This quarry is the westernmost of three small quarries south of the canyon. aptychi were found in the lower middle part of the formation in a 45-cm-thick bed of argillaceous limestone. This bed, which strikes N5°W and dips 45°W, is a dense, dark-gray, fine-grained limestone that weathers light brown
