Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: marl
Secondary lithology: argillaceous "limestone"
Includes fossils?Y
Includes fossils?Y
Lithology description: "Occurs in argillaceous limestones and massive marl with interbeds and members of platy, fragmental, detrital limestone."
Environment:carbonate indet.
Geology comments: "Interpreted to have formed in an open, shallow basin. The brachiopods are dominant. The biota is of BA 3 aspect. Artciculate brach's characteristic of marls and marly Lsts, but brach's not as abundant in the detrital Lsts where stromatoporoids and corals dominate; trilobite detritus is common. Disarticulated trilobites suggest moderate turbulence."
