Primary lithology:oncoidal,gray lithified rudstone
Secondary lithology:yellow "limestone"
Includes fossils?Y
Includes fossils?Y
Lithology description: oncolitic rudstone with bone debris, and thinly laminated limestones with plant, shrimp and fish remains. Some bones...were preserved wholly in a yellow, thinly laminated limestone or with a side of the fossil in this laminated and the other side in a grey, hard oncolitic rudstone.
Environment:lacustrine - small
Geology comments: "Subtidal, intertidal and lacustrine limestones" and low-energy deposition covered by higher-energy limestones.
Taphonomy
Modes of preservation:body
Size of fossils:macrofossils,mesofossils,microfossils
Preservation of anatomical detail:good
Associated major elements:some
Disassociated major elements:many
Disassociated minor elements:many
Fragmentation:frequent
Collection methods and comments
Collection methods:selective quarrying,surface (float),surface (in situ),chemical,field collection,observed (not collected)
Collection size:200 specimens
Reason for describing collection:taxonomic analysis
Collectors:Boscarolli Collection dates:1980s-
Collection method comments: exposure entirely underwater
Taxonomic list comments:Somphospondyli should be re-IDed as Titanosauriformes indet. ref 15476; Both this and the other listing of Titanosauriformes should have Sauropoda indet. with ref 29141 as the original ID, and all others as re-IDs, BUT THE DATABASE CODE STILL WILL NOT LET ME DO THIS.
