Stratigraphy comments: Fossils from well-defined stratum 2 m thick. The Adjuntas is the youngest and one of the most fossiliferous formations of the Difunta Group. Previously considered to be Maastrichtian in age, but subsequent work has place the unit in the Ypresian stage. The Adjuntas Formation has its most extensive outcrop areas in the synclines of the La Popa Basin.
