Stratigraphy comments: The Indio Formation of south Texas, characterised by play or slabby sandstones and thin-bedded sandy shale and clay, is present in Mexico, with an estimated thickness of more than 3000 ft. The Indio Formation shows faunal similarity with the Tuscahoma and Bashi Formations of Alabama. The Indio Formation is subdivided into three members. The collection is derived from the lower member.
