Stratigraphy
Formation:Nyalindung
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: Formerly referred to as Nyalindung Mbr of Cimandiri Fm (Sukamoto, 1990). Overlying Jampang Fm. THICKNESS: From ~2 m thick bed within <8 m section; total composite section thickness is estimated at around 40 m. AGE: Age still debated, but most evidence, including molluscan and foraminiferal biostratigraphy suggest a Middle Miocene age. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From lower cycle 9 near base of the Nyalindung Fm.
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:fine poorly lithified silty sandstone
Includes fossils?Y
Lithology description: SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Muddy fine sandstone. LITHIFICATION: Poorly lithified, based on figured specimens (some from unlithified sediments, most from poorly-lithified sediments).
Environment:coastal indet.
Glacial or sequence phase:transgressive systems tract
Geology comments: SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY: From upper part of transgressive systems tract.
