Stratigraphy comments: Unit is known as either the Makay Formation or "Isalo II"; basal part of unit. This formation is of uncertain age and is generally considered late Ladinian or early Carnian; Langer et al. (2000) support a Carnian age based upon palynology and their interpretation of the phylogenetic position of the rhynchosaur material. |
