Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:gray "shale"
Lithology description: Specimen from Gray Shale between sandstone layers
Environment:terrestrial indet. Tectonic setting:pull-apart basin
Geology comments: The Bohemian Cretaceous Basin and its source terrains formed during the mid-Cretaceous, by reactivation of a system of anastomosed strike-slip faults. Individual sub-basins and source terrains formed within this anastomosed fracture system. The structurally deepest depocentres of individual sub-basins were situated along the most active marginal fault zones. Compared to the classic strike-slip basin systems, this intracontinental setting was characterized by small subsidence rates.

Collection method comments: Repository: Museums des Königreiches Böhmen in Prag
Taxonomic list comments:Many identifications considered dubious by contemporary workers (e.g. Meunier 1911).
