• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Uipta Formation, which unconformably overlies the Siamana Formation (late Oligocene-early Miocene) and is conformably overlain by the Jimol Formation (early-middle Miocene). AGE: Aquitanian-Burdigalian, on the basis of stratigraphic position and constrained by Sr-isotope dating of enterer. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From an unknown part of Uipta Fm.

Environment/lithology: offshore; lithified sandstone

• ENVIRONMENT: Shelfal fauna, although possibly redeposited.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Consolidated muddy matrix. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, as determined in the field.
