• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From Turgut Fm, which unconformably overlies the Tauride tectonic unit (Mesozoic) and is overlain conformably by the Sekköy Fm (Late Miocene). THICKNESS: From unit 200 m thick. AGE: Burdigalian. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From lower part (Aquitanian) of Turgut Fm.

Environment/lithology: coastal; poorly lithified, shelly/skeletal sandstone and poorly lithified marl

• ENVIRONMENT: Shallow marine, siliciclastic setting
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Fossiliferous sandstone, marl, siltstone and limestone. LITHIFICATION: Poorly-lithified, includes beds from probably poorly-lithified and lithified facies.
