Where: Nepal (29.5° N, 82.9° E: paleocoordinates 50.2° S, 61.8° E)
• coordinate based on nearby landmark
• outcrop-level geographic resolution
When: Popa Member (Senja Formation), Changhsingian (254.2 - 252.2 Ma)
• Disconformably overlies late Wuchiapingian Nangung Formation, correlations with Salt Range (Pakistan) suggest probable Changhsingian age. Pyramus silicius Subzone. Collected "bed" 2.3 m thick.
• bed-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: marine; lithified sandstone
Size class: macrofossils
Preservation: cast, original calcite
Collection methods: Some collections were of individual specimens, others as large as possible under the circumstances, with a few localities represented by rock weighing more than 50 kg. Most collections were made from just over 50 measured sections, and are under good stratigraphic control.
