Stratigraphy
Formation:Ziliujing Member:Dongyuemiao
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: The Ziliujing is divided into (in ascending order) Zhenzhuchong, Dongyuemiao, Ma’anshan, and Da’anzhai members. A Toarcian age for the Dongyuemiao Member and an early Middle Jurassic age for the overlying parts of the formation is supported on the basis of macroplants (e.g. Meng et al. 2003. Acta Palaeontologica Sinica 42: 525-536)
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: sandy mudstone
Includes fossils?Y
Environment:lacustrine - large
Geology comments: "Abundance of molluscs and plants characterizes the biota of the Dongyuemiao Member , indicating that the sediments are of freshwater origin and deposited in subtropical climate (Cai, 1988 ; Meng and Chen, 1997)" (Sato et al. 2003)
