Comments: lists multiple "panstem-based" and "apomorphy-based" taxa that are identical in content to traditional "crown node-based" taxa in common usage also accepted by the authors but are not said to adhere to actual nodes, so priority is ignored and the names do not fall in the Linnean system; I have therefore excluded them from the Database I have not entered a large number of synonyms amongst higher-order names because use of a modern classification renders these names automatically obsolete and Joyce et al. synonymize these names with their invalid, junior "panstem" names |
