BMR B683, Exmoor Homestead (Permian of Australia)

Where: Queensland, Australia (20.9° S, 148.1° E: paleocoordinates 56.2° S, 140.6° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Blenheim Formation, Wuchiapingian (259.9 - 254.2 Ma)

• Upper part of Middle Bowen Beds (Runnegar, 1965) about 500 feet below the Big Strophalosia Zone (Campbell, 1965). According to the stratigraphic column in Dickins et al. (1964), this locality is in the base of "Fauna C" so roughly equivalent to the clarkei bed. The P. clarkei zone is correlated with the upper part of APP4.3 palynomorph zone (Briggs, 1998). The APP4.3 zone was constrained as mid-Wuchiapingian age by U-Pb dating in Laurie et al. (2016).

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified siliciclastic sediments

Size class: macrofossils
