• Locality belongs to the Fontanelliceras fontanellense zone = lowermost Toarcian according to revisions of Nakada and Matsuoka (2008, 2011). The Nishinakayama Fm attains about 300m in maximum thickness, and is lithostratigraphically subdivided into three members, namely Na (tuffaceous silty shales; 90m thick), Nb and Nc in upward sequence.
