Headwaters of Bern Creek - Unnamed Upper Jurassic Sandstone (Jurassic of Canada)

Where: Yukon, Canada (65.1° N, 140.3° W: paleocoordinates 65.5° N, 72.6° W)

• coordinate stated in text

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Tithonian (152.1 - 145.0 Ma)

• Collection a composite from the "unnamed Upper Jurassic sandstone" unit of the Bern Creek headwaters section. This succession is assigned a Portlandian=lower Tiithonian? age based on macrofossil biostratigraphy (Buchia mosquensis biozone of Jeletzky, 1967).

• formation-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: transition zone or lower shoreface; sandstone

• Mainly littoral to inner neritic paleoenvironments.
• Mainly sandstone.

Size class: macrofossils

Reposited in the GSC

Collection methods: quarrying,

• Collection is a composite derived from Fig. 2 of Jeletzky (1978), and amalgamated from occurrences of individual taxa on composite columns for individual lithostratigraphic units. Collections presumably are reposited in the Geological Survey of Canada collections.
