Also known as Sando et al. Moffat Trail Loc.75

Where: Lincoln County, Wyoming (42.9° N, 110.8° W: paleocoordinates 1.5° N, 41.0° W)

• coordinate estimated from map

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Caninia zone, Moffat Trail Member (Amsden Formation), Chesterian to Chesterian (339.4 - 318.1 Ma)

• Limestone 210 ft above base of Amsden Fm. "Late Mississippian (Chesterian)."

• bed-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: offshore shelf; lithified, dolomitic, shelly/skeletal, gray, yellow limestone

• moffat trail: predominantly light gray, medium to coarse grained, fossiliferous limestone composed largely of comminuted organic debris, mostly crinoidal, in beds 0.3 - 5 ft thick. brown, gray, or jasperoid chert nodules and lenses are common. thin intercalated beds of silty dolomite or dolomitic limestone that weather yellowish brown or buff occur sparsely. limestone at some localities contain considerable quantities of fine quartz sand, and some beds of fine grained quartz sandstone and quartzite are present. hoback canyon upper-half beds contain partings and beds of dark gray fissile clay shale. glory mountain member beds include ferruginous pisolites in thin crinoidal limestone. most of the larger fossils are abraded, fragmented, haphazardly oriented.
