• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Mancos Fm, for which lithostratigraphic relations are not discussed. AGE: Early Turonian, on the basis of ammonoid biostratigraphy; Mammites nodosoides zone. STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From near top of Mancos Shale.

Environment/lithology: marine; lithified, concretionary, brown, gray, yellow, argillaceous shale

• ENVIRONMENT: Marine siliciclastic.
• SPECIFIC LITHOLOGY: Argillaceous limestone concretions that weather yellowish gray to olive gray or brown. LITHIFICATION: Lithified, on the basis of facies description.
