Where: Altai (Region), Russian Federation (52.0° N, 86.0° E: paleocoordinates 4.9° S, 15.7° E)
• coordinate based on political unit
• local area-level geographic resolution
When: Glyptagnostus stolidotus trilobite zone, Kul'bich Formation, Ayusokkanian (499.5 - 497.0 Ma)
• Unfortunately, the localities are not designated as either terrigenous or calcareous-terrigenous ""types"". Only vague lithology can be inferred and ""types"" inferred through the biozone descriptions. If the lithology is the terrigenous type, the formation is Tandoshinskaya, if the lithology is calcareous-terrigenous type, the formation is either Yelandid or Bol'sheishin. AGE: Mayan; refined by A. Hendy (6/2009) on the basis of biostratigraphic data. PJW: stolidotus zone is in the Ayusokkanian local stage & is the Kul'bich formation here.
• formation-level stratigraphic resolution
Environment/lithology: marine; lithology not reported
Size class: macrofossils
Collection methods: Glyptagnostus stolidotus occurs in only the argillaceous portions of the section.
