• faunizone “F” = IGCP TS 1c-d

Environment/lithology: deep subtidal shelf; gray claystone and lithified, bioturbated, nodular siltstone

• a monotonous succession of dark-grey claystones, and green siltstones with fine to mediumgrained sandstone intercalations and silicious nodules reaching a thickness greater than 500 m. Although the sandstone intercalations are often graded and exhibit erosive bases, bioturbation is common and primary sedimentary features are often lacking (Alvaro et al.2003).
