Where: Russian Federation (61.1° N, 147.2° E: paleocoordinates 77.0° N, 32.9° E)

• coordinate estimated from map

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Kulu Formation, Wuchiapingian (259.9 - 254.2 Ma)

• 50 m thick

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; lithified, fine-grained, medium, gray, green sandstone and lithified, black shale

• Light greenish gray sandstone, fine- to medium- or coarse-grained (rarely), with rare tuffaceous admixture of the intermediate composition. Massive sandstone beds are 0.1–0.7 to 2 m, occasionally. Sandstone beds in the lower part of the member enclose thin (a few millimeters to 1–3 cm) laminae of black shales and small single gravelstone lenses (up to 5 cm) with small well-rounded pebble. There are also spheroid calcareous concretions up to 10–15 cm across and coalified plant detritus.

Size class: macrofossils
