• Between 10-70 m below the 800 marker bed. Upper part of Salagou Formation (Merifrons Member) is primarily Kungurian age, according to Michel et al. (2015), constrained by Artinskian radiometric ages in the underlying Octon Mb.

Environment/lithology: pond; brown, red claystone and siltstone

• Small ponds on a playa lake; Lodève Basin, half-graben
• Fossils found in rills or siltstone channels
