• "The horizon is not indicated, but the type material is almost certainly from the Choptank Formation (upper middle Miocene) on the basis of the presence of mollusk shell material associated with the holotype. The Calvert and St. Marys Formations in the Stratford bluffs are not shelly" (Weems 2018).
