• "Schiste et calcaire de Parsefid", upper limestone unit. The lower of these marly limestone units contains the ammonoid species Distichites tozeri Seyed-

•Emami, Arcestes sp., and Pinacoceras imperator Mojsisovics, indicating a late Middle Norian age (Alaunian 3). The upper limestone unit is rich in bivalves, including the taxon described in this study. Given the comparatively high sedimentation rates of the Nayband Formation, as indicated by the high thickness of sediments deposited in the late Middle Norian to Rhaetian time interval, the material examined here is assumed to be Alaunian 3 in age as well.
