Huangzhistan section: HC-1 (Permian of China)

Where: Zhejiang, China (30.9° N, 120.1° E: paleocoordinates 17.3° N, 102.0° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Neogondella yini conodont zone, Changhsing Formation, Changhsingian (254.2 - 252.2 Ma)

• group of beds-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: platform or shelf-margin reef; lithified packstone and lithified, muddy wackestone

• shallow, open, platform setting
• The uppermost Permian comprises bioclastic limestone of the Changhsing Formation. This formation is capped by a thin layer of dark muddy limestone (Bed 19) rich in trace fossil Chondrites ichnosp. The possible P/Tr mass extinction horizon is calibrated to the base of Bed 19 by the first occurrence of the conodont N. meishanensis

Size class: macrofossils

Preservation: mold/impression

Collection methods: surface (in situ),

• recovered from the surfaces of mudstone or marlstone or limestone slabs, forming total areas of 0.2 to 0.3 m2 for each sample. all of bryozoans, crinoids and fishes are excluded from quantitative analysis.
