• The Triassic redbeds exposed in the quarry are typically considered part of the Lower Triassic (Induan) Nemunas Formation. However, the presence of phytosaurs (a typical Upper Triassic group) suggests that at least some of the sediments in the quarry are younger than previously appreciated
