H36, Rathbone's Farm, Granton (Permian of Australia)

Where: Tasmania, Australia (42.8° S, 147.2° E: paleocoordinates 77.4° S, 171.4° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• small collection-level geographic resolution

When: Berriedale Formation, Kungurian (279.3 - 272.3 Ma)

• Bernacchian Stage T5. Berriedale Limestone assigned to the lower Echinalosia preovalis zone, correlative with the upper part of palynomorph zone APP3.1 by Briggs (1998). The APP3.1 zone does not have any radiometric constraints, although the top of the overlying APP3.2 is around 271.6 Ma (Laurie et al., 2016), placing it near the Kungurian-Roadian boundary or in the lower Roadian. Phillips et al. (2018) report ages of 282.72 and 282.41 Ma from strata no older than APP2.2, providing an upper constraint on APP3.1. Phillips et al. (2018) also place APP3.1 in the Kungurian, which is consistent with the presence of the ammonoid Neocrimites in APP3.1 of the the Tiverton Formation (although not unequivocal). It is possible that the formation may span the Artinskian-Kungurian boundary.
